A bloddy night - as posted by Priest

Nobody can explain it better than Priest. I'm just glad that they have enough info for the fans from their last gig; which unfortunately I was not able to attend. I want to say this now to make it clear to everybody. The ONLY thing; the one and ONLY thing that will stop me from going to a Saints of Pain gig, is when I'm spending quality time with my little girl. Other than that, I don't care if I have to work the next day, I WiLL be at their gigs.
This is what Priest had to say about that glorious night that I missed:

Big bands are always accused of being dicks to the smaller bands that open for them. Rock stories are replete with tales of snobby lead singers telling the lesser bands before them that they have to cramp into a single dressing room, and share a single bottle of water between the 4 of them. This was not that night and Carnivore is one one of those bands. We Saints were invited into the very sanctum of the dressing room marked Carnivore only, and that is were we stayed. Glad to once again spend time with our faithful producer, and friend Joey Z. it was a blast back to the month and half we had spent in the studio recording Killing Jar. Joey was more then just recording guru and rock legend he was our friend. Paul Tobin, is a guitar god with a humble streak a mile wide, few men can command such presence and be so down to earth. Steve is a guy with level head and a drumming style that is so furious that it s hard to believe the drums don't just fall apart. Last but never least Pete Steele funny, strange, never with out a great one liner. As a bass player I have to admit the guy is just a great man to hang out with. When we were deciding how the equipment would go to the stage,( what order, what cabinets and so such) Pete all but insisted that I use his rig... That is right, not only was the guy gracious to myself and fellow Saints, but he we was humble and I am quoting "I would be honored for you to use my gear, Brother this will be a great night for you... It will be a great night for us all." Pete was right.
The crowd that night at L'AMOUR's Staten Island's new rock palace was a pleasure to play for. Not the normal NYC too cool for everything. This crowd was a mixture of old fans and newly made ones. By the end of the second song we were enjoying an audience that was second to none. They didn't now the words but they understood and loved the spirt.
Seventh Void is Kenny and Jonnys of Type O Negatives other band. Imagine a heavier version of Alice in Chains. My brother and I stood around and spoke with Jonny while he replaced all the heads and tuned the house kit. No one asked him to do it, he just did it... So much for being all to rock star. Kenny had greeted me at the door when he arrived and was the one handing me my head when I was loading on to the stage. We stood next to one another tuning up on the same stage as he much like a proud father showed me his recently acquired 1981 Gibson Les Paul. We talked about the moding that we had each done to our weapons of choice. His parting words as he left the stage, "You knock-'em dead." Thanks Chief.
For me the highest point of the night is a throw away. A great moment not noticed by another person, just a voice in the distance. It was after the whole of the night had passed. All the amps were off and loaded away, there were maybe a dozen of us standing outside. A few last people trying to make a love connection or hanging out with the last few band members talking. It was a guy that asked for a picture. Nothing new I have taken... I don't even know how may people ever asked me for a picture. This guy didn't just want a picture with me... he wanted a picture with me, Peter and himself. Again nothing I hadn't done already that night a dozen times. It was after that, when he was walking to his car... I could see that they kid was jazzed about the night. He was almost skipping to the car. I herd him say "That was great I am going home and posting that one of the three of us tonight" I had to agree with him.... It was a great night
