Review at Club Midway

One again The Saints of Pain put on a show like nobody else can. Tuesday night they played at club Midway. It was our first time there, and they crowd was willingly waiting to hear what the saints had to bring to them; they did not disappoint.
The club was a very decent sized club, and the same can be said of the stage. That night we definitely made the bouncer work for his money. Not because there were fights, but because the droves of fans that came to see the saints play. We all gathered at the front of the club chatting with one another waiting for whatever other band playing to get the fuck off the stage. The poor bouncer had to keep on telling us not to block the entrance, or to move to the side... he had no idea of the power of the Saints of Pain.
As the saints were setting up the stage, all of us went inside to anxiously await the mayhem they would bring to this new crowd. It was amazing to see the fans getting ready as well. You couldn't miss it and it would be hard to explain. That night was a little chilly, so a lot of us had some sort of long sleeve shirts or jackets on. Once inside though, it was like an army of black t-shirts with the saints logo. people were taking off jackets, to display the SOP uniform. What a sight that was.
The crowd was not ready for the Saints, and that's just how I like it. This way I get to see all of the “converts” get up and jam next to all of us. After a few test of the microphones, some drum beats, and Syxx letting loose a guitar riff, the music started, laz did a quick intro, and we were off....
LOUD!!!!! that's how the Saints of Pain play their music, and that's how we like it.
Of course there was another blown amp, what kind of concernt it would be if there wasn't one?
Now back to the crowd.... after the band played one of their new songs, and then moved on to “Therapy”, the crowd was won over. As we were dancing I saw new fans to the left and the right of me. Some funny guy in nothing but shorts and a chocker was to my left dancing along with me and making noise. Now THAT's what I like to see. The music was overtaking every soul in that club. As always, the curious moved from the bar to the stage, leaving the bar completely empty.
As she end approached, laz let us know that they had two more songs to do. On the last song, the new fans took my breath away. The regular fans are the ones to always call out for an encore when we want to hear another song. To my amazement, as I was going to open my mouth to scream “one more song!!”, but somebody else had beat me to it. I turned around and it was the new convert that was dancing next to me. The new fans got so into the Saints of Pain, that they were all screaming for more. It was definitely a sight to behold.
When they asked if we all wanted one more, some of us started calling out the songs that they didn't play like “Down” and “Paradise”. Boy what a surprise we ALL got when they decided to belt out a brand-spanking new song. Never before heard, and I don't even know the name of it yet. What a way to end a concert!!!! That song was RAW and full of power, and Laz definitely knows how to sing them.

Once our heartbeats went back to normal, and the sweat off our bodies was starting to dry, some of us got to be interviewed for their up coming DVD. It was just fantastic, and the guys were great.
It was such a great concert, that I was still hyper when I got home and couldn't sleep.

I just hope that if you were there, you enjoyed the music as much as I always do.
